Philip J. Mammano, Jr., Esq.
Phil is the senior partner of the law firm and has 42 years experience as a litigator for plaintiff’s personal injury in addition to extensive experience as defense counsel to criminal defendants. His educational experience includes a B.B.A degree, magna cum laude, from Bernard M. Baruch College of CUNY, and a Juris Doctor from Rutgers School of Law graduating in the top 20% of his graduating class.
While a student at Rutgers Law, Phil assisted in writing a highly regarded textbook entitled “West’s Criminal Law Defenses” where the author gave him special thanks and mention in the dedication of the book.
Phil has defended many individuals who were wrongly accused, including obtaining a dismissal of a murder charge against a juvenile client by successfully obtaining a suppression of an illegally obtained confession from an unrepresented juvenile in the New Jersey Supreme Court. Also, Phil was successful in obtaining an acquittal for a woman charged with arson where the state’s case was based upon questionable science practices, the jury returning a verdict of “not guilty” in 30 minutes of deliberation after a month long trial. This matter gained national attention with Phil giving interviews to “60 minutes” as well as local news stations.
Phil gave up trying civil and criminal matters after 25 years of practice due to the heavy load of his civil practice. The firm prides itself on representing multiple generation of various families and generating civil work by satisfied client’s referrals in addition to referrals from many attorneys in South Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.
Phil was born and raised in New York City, but he and his wife of 44 years have made South Jersey their home since 1980. Phil and his wife have, at all times, a house filled with cats and dogs, as animals are a passion of both husband and wife. In addition, Phil has automobiles and baseball as his life long hobbies.
